Frequently Asked Questions
1. When does registration close?
Registration will close three days (72 hours) prior to the first day of the course.

2. How many people can be in a class?
The American Red Cross requires class size of five to ten participants. If the minimum is not met, participants will be notified at least two days (48 hours) prior to the first day of the course.

3. What if there aren't enough people signed up for the course?
If there are not enough people signed up for the course when registration closes, registered participants will be issued a full refund or offered the opportunity to transfer registration to a different date.
4. What if the course I want is full?
If the course is full, please fill out the form on the Contact page with information about the participant and the course they would like to attend. They will be placed on a wait list and notified if a place in the class opens.

5. I can't attend the course I signed up for anymore. Can I get a refund?
A participant can receive a refund if they notify Blue Wave Swim & Sport, LLC in advance.
Non-blended course policy: A cancellation fee of 10% will be forfeited. Cancellations must occur 72 hours prior to the start of the class. No refunds will be given after registration closes.
Blended course policy: A cancellation fee of 10% will be forfeited if notified more than three weeks in advance. A cancellation fee of 50% will be forfeited if notified less than three weeks in advance. No refunds will be given after registration closes (72 hours prior to class).

6. Do I have to attend every day of the course?
Yes, the course lengths are scheduled according to American Red Cross guidelines. Time may vary slightly depending on the number of participants in a course.
7. What should I bring to class?
Please bring a swimsuit, towel, comfortable clothes, notebook, pencil, snacks, and water each day. Some people prefer to bring multiple suits and towels so they can have dry options. Sunscreen is encouraged for outdoor courses.
8. How long will my certification last?
The Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification lasts two years. A participant must have a current Red Cross certificate to sign up for the renewal course. Please fill out the form on the Contact page if you have questions about this policy.

9. How do I know the expiration date of my current certificate?
